§ 111.335. Criminal Justice Training Trust Fund.

  • There is created within the General Trust and Agency Fund, a trust fund account to be known as the Criminal Justice Training Trust Fund. There shall be deposited into this fund all monies paid to the City under F.S. Ch. 943.25, to be used only for advanced and specialized training for law enforcement and correctional officers and for administrative costs and operating capital outlay as approved by the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC). Subject to appropriation by the City Council each year, the Sheriff may expend funds from this account to be used only for those purposes outlined in the Florida Administrative Code and in accordance with the budget as approved by the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission. The Criminal Justice Training Trust Fund monies will be deposited in an interest bearing account, and interest accrued may be expended on CJSTC approved advanced and specialized training programs and supporting costs which are directly related to the delivery of those courses. The Director of Finance and Administration is authorized and directed to make disbursements from this account upon written requisition of the Sheriff or his designee after approval by Council. Any undistributed funds shall not lapse at the close of any fiscal year but instead shall carry over to the next fiscal year. All funds provided by the State, not spent at the close of the State's fiscal year, will revert to the State Criminal Justice Standards and Training Trust Fund.
