§ 671.104. Requirements and procedures.

  • The following shall be the requirements and procedures for use and training of the AED program:

    (a)

    No AED shall be used in the county without first complying with the requirements and procedures set forth in this section.

    (b)

    Any entity in possession of an AED shall register with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department the existence and location of the AED, said registration to include:

    (i)

    Name of business;

    (ii)

    Number of AEDs on premise;

    (iii)

    Location of AED(s);

    (iv)

    Type and manufacturer of the AED(s); and

    (v)

    Documentation that all persons who will use an AED have had appropriate training, to include completion of a course in cardiopulmonary resuscitation or successful completion of a basic first aid course that includes cardiopulmonary resuscitation training, and demonstrated proficiency in the use of an AED.

    (c)

    Any person who uses an AED is required to activate the emergency medical services system (9-1-1) as soon as possible upon use of the AED.
