§ 111.880. Jax Kids Book Club Education Special Revenue Fund.

There is created within the General Trust and Agency Fund a special revenue fund account to be known as the Jax Kids Book Club Education Special Revenue Fund (the "Fund") into which shall be deposited all gifts, donations, contributions, and gifts of a monetary value made for the purpose of supporting the Jax Kids Book Club to be used to pay vendors for writing, illustrating, designing, editing, printing, and distributing books to children in the Jax Kids Book Club, and promoting the book club through the development of brochures and flyers, website production, and family literary activities. All sums placed into the Fund, which shall include all interest earned or accrued thereon, shall be accounted for in a separate self-appropriating account and shall not lapse at the close of any fiscal year but instead shall carry over to the next fiscal year. The CEO of the Kids Hope Alliance (the "Board"), or his or her designee, under the direction of the Board of Directors of the Board, is authorized and directed to solicit sponsorships and funds for contribution to the Fund. The City of Jacksonville Director of Finance and Administration is authorized and directed to make disbursements of principal and interest from the Fund upon the written request of the CEO of the Board, or designee, subject to the availability of funds in the Fund. Nothing in this section shall prohibit or otherwise limit any appropriations which may be made by the Council to the Board for use toward attaining its purposes, functions, and goals. Notwithstanding the foregoing, no City funds shall be appropriated to the Fund without prior approval by the City Council.
