§ 62.102. Term of office; removal.

  • (a)

    Members of the Board shall be appointed for a term of three years commencing on October 1, or until their successors are appointed and qualified. The terms of members from category (c) in Section 62.101 shall not run concurrently. Likewise, the terms of members from category (d) and category (e) in Section 62.101 shall not run concurrently.

    (b)

    The Board by majority of the quorum present may declare a position vacant for three or more unexcused absences within a year. Once declared vacant, the Board shall direct the chairman to petition the appointing authority to recommend to Council that the Board member be removed. Any member of the Board may be removed from office for cause by a two-thirds vote of the entire Council.
