§ 106.402. Elimination of employee positions.
Whenever, for better budgetary control, the Council determines in the budget ordinance that certain positions should be eliminated from the total number of authorized employees, the positions so enumerated or described in the budget ordinance shall become vacant when the persons then employed in those positions cease to be employed by the City, and shall be eliminated as authorized positions. The maximum number of authorized positions for the major fund in which a vacant and eliminated position was located shall be reduced by one, and the Mayor may not allocate or allot any other position to take the place of the eliminated position.
